DAY 138 (21 AUGUST) – Bitter nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) (Guildford)

Bit surprised to find nightshade growing so close to the entrance of the Royal Surrey Hospital. Turns out it’s not officially ‘deadly nightshade’ (which has shiny black berries) but it’s still very toxic. Still, I suppose A&E is on hand …

Blame my fertile imagination, but it felt creepily close to the chimney which emits the smoke from burning biological waste.
